Meet the hot-bodied men of Hamilton Investigation & Security as they do whatever it takes to protect the women that have stolen their hearts.

When FBI Special Agent Kate Ross is injured in a drive-by shooting, Hamilton Investigation & Security (HIS) leader Jesse Hamilton, believing she is the target of a killer seeking revenge against him, pulls the full force of HIS into action to protect her.

Kate doesn’t believe Jesse, the only man to make her seethe one minute and lust after him the next, when he approaches her with a note from the Facilitator stating someone he loves would die shortly, and he knows in his gut it’s Kate. After a second attempt on her life, she can no longer fight his protection or her attraction to him.

After making a mistake that cost his wife her life, Jesse vowed never to love again, but Kate stirs something in him that puts his protective instincts into overdrive. Keeping her alive and out of his heart is more difficult than he expected. Then he makes a decision that could cost Kate her life. Is history due to repeat itself?

Jesse and Kate turn out to be the perfect couple – their passionate and strong-willed nature keeps each of them on their toes. Even though they start out denying their feelings for one another, it’s not long before they choose to follow their hearts and act on their smoldering chemistry. And the reader will not be disappointed: these two sizzle and you want them to have a happy ending.

The Hamilton family ties also bind tight and it foreshadows future stories to look forward to. Jesse is soft at heart deep down, especially with his family and his daughter Reagan, and one can forgive him his previous “indiscretions” when he finally admits and acts on his feelings for Kate. He continues to beat himself up about not saving his wife from being killed and this becomes a bit old, but it’s understandable.

The author weaves the plot in such a way that, unless you read ahead, the reader will be somewhat shocked to learn who is behind wanting to kill Kate.

Favorite part:

When Jesse realizes that he loves Kate more than he ever loved his first wife.

Yes, it’s well-written, the plot keeps the reader on her toes, and the sex scenes are scorchers.
